The Lanier Theological Library, one of the premier theological libraries in the country, generously donated over 1,000 books to the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (CSNTM). When visiting the library to receive the donation, the CSNTM research team came upon a treasure trove: personal libraries once owned by renowned Jewish Hebrew Bible scholars, including that of Alon Goshen-Gottstein, alongside a wide array of books from various places. Amidst these collections, the team identified a wealth of resources on the Hebrew Bible, many of which pertain to the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia. Throughout were numerous scholarly resources on the New Testament, as well as significant monographs in the broader field of New Testament studies. Although the vast majority of the donated books are not exclusive to New Testament text critical resources, they are instrumental in advancing CSNTM’s ambition to develop the most robust New Testament text critical library in North America.

Biblia Polyglotta: Targum Palaestinense in Pentateuchum
This is an edition of the Palestinian Targum to the Pentateuch, complete with transcriptions, textual notes, and a Spanish translation of the text. The targums of the Hebrew Scriptures are ancient Aramaic “explanatory translations” of the Hebrew originals. The Palestinian Targum was probably written by the 3rd century CE. This set of volumes also previously belonged to Alon Goshen-Gottstein.
Discoveries in the Judean Desert
This series has long served as the authoritative source for study of the texts of the Dead Sea Scrolls. This series serves as the first and most important place for researchers in the Dead Sea Scrolls to study the texts from this collection.
